ALILA RESORT NHA TRANG
With its unique geographical set up, bordered by the sea on all four directions and by four mountains representing the holy creatures - Dragon, Qilin, Turtle and Phoenix - gathered to preserve the heavenly air, Bao Dai villas are a group of 5 heritage-listed villas engraved with historical events of Emperor Bao Dai, on top of the Canh Long peninsula.
The Lobby is marked by a reflective pond and that symbolizes the harmony between Nature & History, bringing to the guest a message of repect to heritage and an experience filled with memories.
By recognizing the site’s sloping characte - ristics, developing towards the sea, the Hotel & Restaurant was designed to fit the hillside to reduce any conflict with nature and create a connection between the high level of the top of the hill and the beach level, whilst offering an extraordinary view to the water.
The Bar is essentially a conversation between nature and people that strengthens the dialogue through space, experience, and materiality. When surveying the site by the old dock, a suprising landscape is revealed with a overwelming rocky shore that has been shaped by the natur al elements.
The Villas are a modern take to traditional Vietnamese houses by reinterpreting their main characteristic elements such has: the indirect entrance - that also solves the level difference of the site - the wooden screens to provide privacy, and the division of spaces int o three parts to accommodate main functions.
